October 17th 2010 : Un Neuf Zero becomes ZERO....

Maybe you'd already heard, maybe not, so we tell it one more time: The 1.90's will quit...... Due to private circumstances and in a positive context we decided to stop with The 1.90's. We realized that no one is interchangeable of The 1.90's; shortly: this is The 1.90's, this was The 1.90's en these members will always be The 1.90's !! We've got almost 8 very, very nice years to remember, thanks to all the people who supported us that time, you !!! From the start in february 2003 at Cafe Tielemans untill the very last gig at December 19th at Soos Plock Volkel it was a great trip for us, with highlights like nice local festivals as Knipoog Pure Rock, Monsters of Mariaheide and Streetrock, our CD-recordings and presentation of "Un neuf zero" and the video of "Is this human?" to this year's gig at Bospop 2010.

Begin December we are going to record the last 7 songs we've written since "Un neuf zero" at the New Road Studios Wijchen. Check our MySpace and website around that time to hear them. Of course we will play them at the last gig.

As mentioned we will play our last notes on December 19th at Soos Plock in Volkel, supported by friendly heavy bands One Inch Men, The 101's and A5tro5oniq. Doors open at 15.00, damage only 3 euro's !! You're invited to join our last gig and drink a beer with, among others, us. C Ya !!!

July 17th 2010 : Bospop was great!

July 11th we played at the Bospop festival in Weert. Because of the World Final soccer (where the Dutch lions perform) the Bospop changed the timetable, so instead of 11.45h we had to play at 11.00. In front of a crowd with many fans who travelled that day with us or stayed the whole weekend we played the hell out of ourselves !!! During our showtime the camping woke up which silently resulted in a crowd up to the tower of the sound engineers..... :-D We all viewed with a very big smile on our faces (a point where everybody talked about after it...... ;-)

After the show we enjoyed Texas Hippie Coalition, Anvil, Twisted Sister, Status Quo, Taylor Hawkins and many more of the other bands on the Bospop schedule.

Our great friend Harm Lourenssen (Rockportaal.nl) joined us all day and everywhere at the festival and he took some cool photo’s of us, backstage and onstage. Check his pictures HERE.

April 30th 2010 : The Story behind.../Join us at BOSPOP!

Sure, we were very surprised when we were called that we will open the Bospop festival at Weert, July 11th !!! For the curious people in short the story how it happened: In 2008 we've recorded the video for “Is this human?” with a few students of the Kunstacademie Den Bosch (for sure, it's a great video :-D !!). We've placed it on our website and YouTube and got much positive reactions, also at our release party for “Un neuf zero” where we officially released the video too. Erna, a good girlfriend of the band, sent a few weeks ago the link of “Is this human?” to the organisation of Bospop, after the question of them if she knew maybe something interesting for the Bospop festival. After watching the video a few times, watching our website and listening to the songs of “Un neuf zero” they decided to invite us for opening the 2nd day of the Bospop festival !! Wow !! Other bands who play that day are Toto, Twisted Sister, Dweezil Zappa, Uriah Heep and Status Quo. Check www.bospop.nl for details ! The audience will be warmed up very well by The 1.90's that day for them !! People who wanna support us at the Bospop festival can send a mail to tickets@190s.nl ! We will organize a bustrip to the festival on Sunday July 11th , including ticket for that day. More details soon !! Above story was also a good motivation for Erna to start her own rockband agency “Rock-in-Stock”. She knows many bands in the (local) circuit and has very good connections in the national stagescene. April 20th 2010 : Local Heroes for Jaapie!

April the 18th we've played at the Local Heroes to Jaapie tribute at the Plock stage, Volkel. A yearly day to remember Jaapie vd Wanssem, a big supporter of the local bandscene who died 2 years ago. It was the 3rd time that 6 bands played that day for a good cause. A very nice day, very pleasant and with 6 great bands; Argus, Wolfpack, The 1.90's, Kings Castle, Fatburger and Jawa. Thanks to the playing bands, the audience and Soos Plock for this great day !

April 14th 2010 : The 1.90's on BOSPOP Festival.

Today it's official, The 1.90's will play at the Bospop festival in Weert. Sunday July 11th 11.45 mainstage Bospop. Check for more info: www.bospop.nl. We'll see you there. More news about the Bospop gig soon.

July 1st 2009 : Reviews Un Neuf Zero

After 7 months after the official release of Un Neuf Zero, there still coming new reviews from our MCD Un Neuf Zero, so check out the reviews page! In the meantime the 1.90's are verry busy writing new songs. And prepairing a new tour. Tourdates T.B.A.! However The 1.90's writing new material, they're not planning to record those songs yet. First the new songs need the unique "Live touch" before they are ready to be recorded!

October 29th 2008 : Very, very big news update !!!

Maybe you've seen it already in our gigs-list or on our myspace but November 30th will be the date that our MCD “Un neuf zero” officially releases !! Of course this will be assisted with a gig of The 1.90's at Soos Plock Volkel. To beautify the party Viral, One Inch Men and Shirley Temple's Pussy will play there too. Viral is a heavy rockband out of Rotterdam and One Inch Men is a stonermetal band from Tilburg. We know both bands of the Rising Magma circus (more about that later). Shirley Temple's Pussy is a Stone Temple Pilots tributeband from Oss. We are very happy they all wanna come to Volkel and play with us !! So keep November 30th reserved in your pocket diaries !!



But.... we're not only releasing our MCD !!! A few weeks ago we are approached by 3 students of the Movie Academy Den Bosch. For a project they had to make a video from a song or a band (or both ;-), preferably not a song from the charts. Via Ron van Herpen (Astrosoniq; once again: many thanks, Ron) they contacted us. Of course we'd like to collaborate with them and so Last Sunday we've recorded a video of the song “Is this human?”. In an old industrial building and in the environment of Uden (e.g. The A50 highway and some roads near Volkel) we shot a lot of material for that video. Monday and Tuesday the students have arranged it to the definite video and presented it on the Academy, with many compliments !! Yesterday we saw the result and it is excellent !! At Plock, together with our MCD, this video will also officially be “released”. From that time you don't need only our live-gigs anymore to see our handsome faces !

Since June this year we are member of the Rising Magma circus. This brotherhood of only heavy bands operates with the slogan: “No retarding but playing !!”. In the meanwhile it contains about 15 bands, mainly out of Brabant but it spreads out to Rotterdam and “higher” into the Netherlands. Yet the first Belgium member is hailed ! In November, December and January there is almost every weekend a Rising Magma night, somewhere in the Netherlands. The gig on January 25 at Mezz Breda is a special one; all Rising Magma member will play a gig there, which means for about 7 hours of heavy guitar music !! Last but not least; we bought a tour bus ! It's a Mercedes-Benz MB100D. Our drummer Hans is a mechanic (actually Opel....) and he is altering this car to a real “1.90's” MB100. So if you see a blue bus driving with a our nice, new, big logo on it, follow it because there's a big chance that we are driving to another gig again ! Check it out in our gigs page !

August 14th 2008 : The 1.90's at Zebra 2008 – De Bunker Gemert

Next Saturday, aug 16th, we play at the Zebra Festival in Gemert. The Zebra Organisation was looking for a heavy act to start the festival on Saturday. We are very proud they asked us ! :-D This Tuesday we finished writing a new song, called “Mama” which we will play live for the first time at Zebra. Yet another reason to be there, so we hope to see you all !!

August 7th 2008 : The 1.90's joined the Rising Magma circus.

The 1.90's joined the heavy festival "Rising Magma" which is a travelling heavy rock circus and contains bands like Tank 86, 3 Speed Automatic, Shotgun Shiva and many more... For more details check www.risingmagma.com. See you soon at one of the Rising Magma shows!

August 6th 2008 : New official website "The 1.90's".

Here it is, the brand new official website of the 1.90's. Completely in the new "1.90's" style which is related to the artwork of the new 1.90's MCD "Un Neuf Zero". The new album is coming soon, so be patient !
